Bet you didn’t expect a new post this soon after the one last weekend. HA! Fooled you.
Anyway, we (Meredith, her grand-daughter Olivia and I spent a few hours at the Pow Wow today. A bit disappointing as the attendance appeared to be below what I was told is normal. The guess was the weather had a big part in it as it was threatening rain all day. Threatened but none while we were there. Still had a good time, took a few pics (273) and a few of them even came out half way decent. IMHO!
The men’s dancing and the ladies dancing was great to watch. They also had a candy dance. The kids dance around to the beat of the drum and then every time the drumming stops they can pickup the candy that is on the ground. (YES the candy is wrapped, sheesh!) You could watch them scramble each time the drumming stopped trying to get as much in their little hands as possible, only to loose some each time. The kids loved it and of course we loved watching them have such a good time.
So I’m putting a few of them up for your viewing pleasure. Went back on Sunday and I’m adding a few more.
